How To Be A Kindness Runner

๐ŸŒธ Thank you for being a Kindness Runner and rescuing event florals! Here is everything you need to know to succeed.

๐Ÿ“ Overview

You are responsible for:

  • Handling flowers with care, ensuring they are not damaged during transit from weddings and events (often late at night or early morning).

  • Transporting florals safely and efficiently to our storage site or distribution partners.

  • Communicating with event coordinators, venue contacts, and the Petal Kindness coordinator and representing Petal Kindness professionally and warmly in all interactions.

๐Ÿš™ Step-by-Step Job Procedures

1. Before the Event

  • Review your pickup time, location, and point of contact provided by the Kindness Coordinator.

  • Clean your vehicle to ensure there is enough space and it is ready for floral buckets.

  • Wear neutral or black professional clothing - remember, you are entering a formal event gathering where event guests and professionals may still be on site.

  • Pack:

    • A โ€œKindness Runnerโ€ badge - available at our office location: 2941 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

    • Scissors (to remove any taped or zip-tied floral arrangements)

    • Flower buckets - as many as your vehicle will hold - available at our office location: 2941 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

2. During the Pickup

  • Arrive and introduce yourself to the designated contact (if available) and confirm you are there to pick up the floral donation.

  • Gently remove the flowers from their vases and load them into the flower buckets.
DO NOT TAKE ANY VASES OR FLORAL HOLDERS UNLESS EXPRESSLY STATED.
    Florists account for every vase!

  • Snap a few quick pictures at pickup and drop-off (no need for staged shots). We love seeing your behind-the-scenes shots โ€” feel free to tag us on Instagram: @petalkindness

3. Transporting Florals

  • Drive carefully and avoid harsh turns or sudden stops.

  • Avoid leaving flowers in the car unattended.

  • Deliver flowers to: 2941 Lake Tahoe Blvd. South Lake Tahoe CA 96150 OR designated flower recipient (if specified).

  • Unload carefully and fill buckets with water if possible to avoid wilting.

4. After Drop-off

  • Send an email or text to the Kindness Coordinator confirming successful drop-off.

  • Share any photos to petalkindness@gmail.com or tag our Instagram.

๐Ÿ’ผ Conduct Expectations

  • Never solicit tips, personal gifts, or event leftovers unless authorized.

  • Be professional in all interactions โ€” you represent the Petal Kindness brand!

๐Ÿ”’ Safety & Liability

  • You must have a valid driverโ€™s license and proof of auto insurance.

  • Petal Kindness is not liable for vehicle damage, parking tickets, or violations incurred on the job.

  • Use best judgment in unsafe conditions (inclement weather, traffic). Notify us immediately if you are delayed or feel unsafe.

  • If flowers are severely wilted or damaged upon arrival, notify the coordinator.
