🌸 Petal Kindness $1,000 Scholarship
Petal Kindness offers an enthusiastic and dependable individual a unique opportunity to serve as a Kindness Coordinator & Runner. This role is ideal for driving age students or community members who embody compassion, reliability, and professionalism and are excited about spreading joy through flowers.
Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate the organization’s floral donations & floral recipients via our email inquiries and using the SignUp system to request sign up for opportunities. Leverage volunteers and shift management as needed.
Document, track, and schedule incoming donations, respond timely and with a positive customer-oriented mindset.
Safely drive to pick up donated flowers from designated venues at the end of events when Kindness Runner slots are not filled. (often between 9:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m.) and dress in professional black attire (black shirt, black pants, and closed-toe shoes) to align with hospitality standards.
Handle flowers with extreme care, understanding their delicate and perishable nature
Follow Petal Kindness protocols for floral pickup and drop-off at our storage site
Maintain clear communication with event contacts and the Petal Kindness team
Must be great at scheduling and logistics to coordinate floral runners, volunteer shifts, and community donation requests.
Scholarship Package:
💰 $1,000 Kindness in Action Scholarship (awarded upon completion of ~80 coordinations and ~40 floral pickups)
📄 Professional resume creation structured towards your dream job by a certified resume writer
📝 Letter of recommendation from the Executive Director of Petal Kindness
🎟️ Invitation to Nonprofit galas, summits, and events (3 per summer)
💐 Unlimited access to repurposed florals for personal or community distribution
Qualifications:
Must have a valid California driver’s license and clean driving record.
Eligible to drive legally after 10:00 p.m.
Have a vehicle that has a large trunk space.
Ability to lift 30 lbs and handle large floral containers
Professional, courteous, and punctual
Passion for kindness, sustainability, and community impact
Timeframe:
May–September 2025
